Streeter....Ransom...who is Thaddeus' wife?

There seems to be a bit of controversy over what should go in the parentheses in Mary Hazelton's name as in, what is her maiden name.  Some maitain it's Ransom, and the choice of Ransom as a child's name of the couple's supports that supposition....the majority, however, claim it's Streeter, which given the prolific nature of the Streeter family and the immigrant Streeter's wife's lineage (Stephen apparently marries Ursula Adams, the daughter of Henry Adams who as many know, was an ancestor of both Adams Presidents, making anyone descending from Stephen Steeter (and most American Streeters do) a cousin of the Adams Presidents.  However, I have never seen any substantial evidence supporting the supposition that Mary was a Streeter either.  If someone could point me to the origin of this suppostion, I would feel comfortable expending the time and energy to prove it perhaps but it's not worth it if the Streeter supposition is merely wishful thinking based on nothing more that the proximity of a Streeter family to the Hazeltons at a critical point in time.  Love to hear from my fellow Hazeltonians on this one.  The Thaddeus in question is the son of Paul Hazelton of Townshend, VT, who was the son of Colonel John Hazeltine originally from Bradford/Rowley/Haverhill and later in Sutton/Upton/Uxbridge, MA - and the founder of Townshend, VT.
